La Capanna

The architectural office of Cecchini Chiantelli & Partners begins from the union of the professional experiences between Angela Chiantelli and Elvio Cecchin. The goal was to form a working group that shares the same goals and the same ethical principles believing that good design enhances the life of man and of society and thus affects the welfare of people and the success of their activities. The office addresses reuse and restoration of buildings and architectural complexes with contemporary interpretative creativity making sustainable interventions in restoration, interior design, urban and landscape regeneration. The collaboration with artists and other professionals distinguishes the work of this office, still subject to discussion and possible contamination, aware that the creative process involves a mix of research, poetry, invention, technique, tenacity…...
“THE HUT ... "- Reuse a production building for residential purpose.
The building, built in the early '900’s as a production facility for processing tobacco leafs, is characterized by a compact volume with large distinctive symmetrical openings. The artifact is spread over two floors with a ectangular floor plan and is characterized by two large voids. The ntervention leaves intact the original space by placing service facilities within modules to divide the rooms, conceived as elements of furniture, detached from the ceiling and arranged in a spectacular sequence without interrupting the visual perception of the whole project. The restoration was carried out following the green building criteria, placing special care in accurate detail, in the lighting aspects and design of the functional elements. The project is completed with the realization of a technological pavilion,
overlying a basement used for service facilities, covered with photovoltaic and solar panels integrated into the roof, which relates to the main building through open air living area.
