Penthouse 45°

The approach to all projects is done with a meritocratic attitude. I don’t believe in creativity, I leave that to God. I believe in the transformation of an idea into space, shapes and objects as the shaman for his tribe, a deejay, the pope. Also, from my point of view, manual tools safeguard the technological age in which we live. I love to combine the two disciplines to experiment with new materials every day and to discover new applications.

This apartment was a comprehensive restructuring project aimed not only in terms of interior design, but also to a new distribution of the spaces at the architectural level, considering the entire volume of space.
Art is used as a starting point, the original idea of the project. Particularly the artistic movement of the early twentieth century with Russian Constructivism of Kandinsky and other current, even literary, such as the Futurism of the Italian poet Filippo Tommaso Marinetti, with use of the written word as a graphical representation of the movement, made up of the drop down ceiling of the apartment, with a couple of quotation marks that are home to several elements.
As a canvas, but three-dimensional, the volume of a flat container takes the form of gestures, not only aesthetically but also constructive and structural, reinterpret the movement, the dynamism of composition number VIII by Kandinsky. In this case, instead of flat geometrical figures appear three-dimensional elements. The interior space is saturated with this concept. A first gesture: the black wall, brilliant, which, in addition to separating the kitchen area from the living room, organizes and redistributes the program. The floor is modulated perpendicular to this wall, monochrome from black to white, from glossy to opaque. The white dwarf stone, sandstone, dark grey almost black, shiny black granite absolute black, are the materials used.
Against this background, on this blank canvas, grey and black, the movement is reflected not only by the color of the materials, but also through the building or structure itself:
the cut in the ground, the movement of the vertical planes or arrangement of the same bright white staircase that has moved from its original location along the direction given by the wall, 45 °, which cuts the volume of space. In this context, the lighting is enhanced by continuous led lighting in a dynamism with muted colors that could be extrapolated from the work of the painter from Moscow.
In contrast are the objects of design chosen for their colors and curved lines. This time they do not interpret, but are introduced in the framework. An example is the indigo sofa On the rocks, the Baghdad table in the living room and Capriccio from the company Edra in the dining room, or the deep red chairs Soft Chair from Porro.
As Marcel Duchamp with his Ready Made, three colorful works of Miró Flight of the dragonfly in front of the sun, Kopf and Characters in the night guided by the phosphorescent trails of snails, fully lining the bathroom mosaic of the guest bathroom and secondary rooms. These are located in the center and make up, along with the sauna, the hottest place in the house.
