Studio SPARK

The project of the SPARK Palermo studio concerns the main floor of a building historically present on the famous Palermo boulevard, the “Via della Libertà”. The project is based on the recovery of the original architectural spaces eliminating the asphyxiated and cumbersome corridors / hallways of the past living culture. The kitchen has been repositioned in the center of the house defining the new nucleus of the domestic living spaces and through two structural interventions this large space was then put in direct relation with the area overlooking Via della Libertà and with a large space for family activities called relaxation room located on the south side. This real home life fulcrum also gives access to the private part of the house with a bathroom, a large bedroom, approximately 40 square meters of the master suite and an original, entirely custom-designed furniture covered in wall paper that houses a curvilinear laundry. Finally, the internal courtyard of the building houses a large porch accessible from the kitchen and technical rooms.
The house has three fully designed bathrooms enhancing some Antonio Lupi must-haves: the master suite bathroom with the soft but bold travertine tones includes a central shower, sanitary ware, a double integrated sink with a large mirror which further expands the perception of the space. In the entrance, a real "installation" was created, hidden behind a custom-designed cupboard. This circular-shaped installation revolves around an AGO85 "embraced" by a Corten steel wall which also houses a rotating mirror and which invites to the most private area where the service is located. The installation is completed with a shadow that follows the motion of the room and with curved ceiling lighting with three direct spots on the furniture components.
